Gaidi Faraj

At ALU Rwanda, Dr. Faraj led a dynamic team in delivering a student centric and project based curriculum to a diverse Pan African student body. Prior to returning to the academy, Dr. Faraj worked in the private sector in Tanzania. As the vice president of operations for a transatlantic investment firm, he managed multiple lines of business including construction, hospitality and financial services. After several years with the firm, Gaidi moved on to found Global Strategy Partners, a business development consultancy that shares management expertise with businesses operating in, or contemplating investment in Africa and America.

Dr. Faraj was responsible for the site acquisition, regulatory approval, and construction management of Nashera Morogoro hotel. Key to success was prescient placement, limited governmental review, and selection of Western style contractors.  With ten years of experience in Tanzania and East Africa, Dr. Faraj has a broad range of experience navigating the business environment and regulatory framework that make doing business in Africa both challenging and extremely rewarding.
